Robert Pattinson Shares Hilarious Story About Stealing Socks From ‘The Batman’ Set
Robert Pattinson has shared a humorous behind-the-scenes anecdote from the set of ‘The Batman’, revealing that he was caught multiple times taking socks from the production.
In a conversation with BBC Radio 1 film critic Ali Plumb, Pattinson noted that it’s typically quite challenging to take anything from a major film set. Nevertheless, he confessed that he managed to gather a significant number of socks during the filming.
He clarified that this wasn’t a one-off incident. According to him, he kept taking socks throughout the shoot. Eventually, the studio noticed his behavior and intervened to put a stop to it. Pattinson recalled being informed that while it was acceptable to take a few items, he shouldn’t continue doing it every day.
The actor humorously mentioned that most of his personal socks now actually originate from the ‘Batman’ production. Directed by Matt Reeves, the film was a significant reboot of the DC character and marked Pattinson’s debut as Bruce Wayne.
While discussing this light-hearted topic, Pattinson also highlighted the strict nature of film sets regarding props and costumes. Large productions meticulously control every item, making it challenging for actors to keep anything without prior approval.
He also mentioned in other interviews that wearing the full Batman suit had a notable impact on people on set. According to him, crew members often behaved differently when he was in costume, sometimes appearing more cautious or serious around him. He noted that simply standing in the suit without speaking could alter the atmosphere on set.
There have also been discussions regarding a potential sequel to ‘The Batman’, although no official production details have been confirmed yet. If that occurs, Pattinson joked that he would likely not be allowed to take anything more significant than socks.
This amusing story illustrates how strict large movie sets can be, even concerning small items like socks. It also reveals a more relatable side to massive superhero productions. What are your thoughts on actors taking souvenirs from movie sets? Share your opinions in the comments.
