Samara Weaving Dazzles in Cobalt Blue at Valentino’s Antibiblioteca Show in Paris

Samara Weaving has a notable history with Valentino shows in Paris, and she seldom misses an opportunity to make a statement there. In October 2023, she attended the Valentino Spring/Summer 2024 show wearing a black bikini top adorned with a white butterfly, tailored trousers, and a long patterned jacket draped elegantly off her shoulders. She made another appearance in January 2024 for the house’s Haute Couture show.

Her public appearances have become increasingly rare, as noted by InStyle. Therefore, when she shows up at a Paris Fashion Week event, fans take notice. On October 3, she was also seen around the city in a relaxed, sporty-chic ensemble.

This season’s Valentino show featured a striking setting. Creative director Alessandro Michele presented the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “Antibiblioteca,” in the reading room of the historic Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève, the first public library in France. Guests were invited to bring along a favorite book.

On Sunday, Weaving was among the distinguished guests. A fan account shared images of her at the “Antibiblioteca” show, posing amidst dark wood bookshelves, a reading lamp, and an ornate ceiling pattern. She donned a cobalt-blue fitted top featuring Valentino lettering across the chest, paired with pleated dark taupe trousers and a black belt. She accessorized with a small black beaded clutch and styled her blonde hair in loose waves.

The vibrant blue top provided a striking contrast against the rich library backdrop, echoing the collection itself, where models showcased tight silk corset tops in bright blue, yellow, or hot pink, complemented by skirts in contrasting hues.

The show’s title is inspired by the concept of the antilibrary, which posits that unread books represent a valuable reservoir of knowledge waiting to be uncovered. This idea is linked to Nassim Nicholas Taleb and Umberto Eco’s extensive library of approximately 30,000 volumes. Michele translated this concept into fashion, treating each look as a narrative yet to be fully revealed.

Reuters highlighted colorful corset tops, lace skirts, and chunky gold necklaces. The collection featured lace skirts and shirts with ostrich-feather hems, while jewelry included baroque gold necklaces and oversized pearl earrings. Male models sported sequined shirts and bright baseball caps emblazoned with “VILLAIN TEEN,” culminating in a striking floor-length red gown adorned with a giant black bow.

The pressure is on for Michele, who has been at the helm of the Roman house since March 2024 and is tasked with revitalizing sales following a €103M loss last year, with revenues declining by 15%.

Weaving was in excellent company, with Naomi Watts, Colman Domingo, and Alexander Skarsgård among the celebrities seated in the front row, alongside Zoey Deutch and Jeff Satur. WWD noted that the historic library setting evoked memories for Watts.

Weaving has had a busy 2026 on screen. She reprised her role as Grace in ‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,’ which premiered on March 20 alongside Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Elijah Wood. The film is set immediately after the events of the first installment, with Grace striving to protect her estranged sister while being pursued by rival families.

Additionally, she stars alongside Jason Segel in ‘Over Your Dead Body.’ Another project, the crime romance ‘Carolina Caroline’ featuring Kyle Gallner, premiered at TIFF in 2025 and is scheduled for a June 5 release. Both ‘Ready or Not 2’ and ‘Over Your Dead Body’ had their world premieres at SXSW.

It’s an exciting time for an actress recognized as a scream queen.
