Scott Adkins and Dolph Lundgren Unite in ‘One Last Shot’ Trailer, Release Date Announced
Scott Adkins has spent years cultivating a dedicated cult following in action cinema, establishing a franchise that showcases a unique filmmaking approach. This signature series is now reaching its conclusion with a final, star-studded installment.
The ‘One Shot’ franchise is known for its commitment to presenting each film as a single, seemingly unbroken continuous take, a technical feat that has set the low-budget action series apart in a crowded genre. With director James Nunn returning to wrap up the trilogy, this installment features arguably its most prominent name yet.
That name is Dolph Lundgren, who joins Adkins for ‘One Last Shot,’ the third and final chapter in the series, set to arrive on DVD and digital on September 22. A new trailer for the film has just been released, offering fans their first glimpse of Adkins reprising his role as Navy SEAL Jake Harris alongside the ‘Rocky IV’ star, who portrays Harris’ commanding officer.
According to the film’s official synopsis, seasoned Navy SEAL Jake Harris is called back into action when a disillusioned former comrade, now a domestic terrorist named Elliot Carter, played by Steven Cree, threatens the world. With the Joint Chiefs of Staff held hostage in a nuclear bunker, Harris must race against time to thwart Carter before he can access the country’s nuclear weapons.
‘One Last Shot’ picks up directly after the events of 2024’s ‘One More Shot,’ continuing the series’ tradition of showcasing action in one continuous shot. This approach originated with 2021’s ‘One Shot,’ which introduced Adkins as Jake Harris during a mission to rescue a prisoner from a CIA black site before the base comes under attack.
Jamie Russell returns as the writer for this third installment, having penned all three entries in the franchise, while Nunn continues his role as director throughout the trilogy. Adkins has previously expressed pride in the series’ technical achievements on a modest budget and hopes it will gain more mainstream recognition.
In addition to Adkins, Lundgren, and Cree, the cast includes Hannah Ware, who rounds out a supporting ensemble that enhances the film’s high-stakes, real-time tension. Filming took place in west London, with Sky set to release the film in the UK and Ireland as a Sky Original, while Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will distribute it globally.
The ‘One Shot’ series has built its reputation since its 2021 debut, which originally featured Ryan Phillippe and Ashley Greene alongside Adkins before he became the franchise’s central lead. This evolution has helped define the series’ identity as a showcase for his action choreography and physical performance skills.
With ‘One Last Shot’ positioned as the trilogy’s definitive conclusion, fans of the franchise’s unique continuous-shot format can look forward to its release date. The film’s arrival on DVD and digital on September 22 offers longtime followers of Adkins’ work one last chance to see Jake Harris in action, this time alongside an ’80s action legend.
