Few stars embody the early 2000s quite like Jessica Alba. Rising to fame on ‘Dark Angel’ and becoming a household name with films such as ‘Honey,’ ‘Sin City,’ and ‘Fantastic Four,’ a Y2K-themed party feels like her natural habitat.

Recently, the actress and entrepreneur showcased her flair for nostalgia at Paris Hilton’s Y2K-themed end-of-summer party, turning heads with one of the week’s most talked-about fashion moments. Alba’s choice was deeply personal, as it was inspired by her daughter rather than a stylist.

Alba shared photos from the event on Instagram, where she posed with a peace sign and a playful pout in a fitted, star-print cropped tank top. A second mirror shot revealed her complete look, featuring a dark ruffled miniskirt.

The top features olive and beige tones adorned with dark stars, paired with a low-rise miniskirt that channels early 2000s vibes. Alba accessorized with stacked necklaces, a chunky gold cuff bracelet, and hoop earrings.

To complete her look, she wore brown knee-high boots and styled her brown-blonde hair half up, half down, with loose strands framing her face. Her soft, glowy makeup highlighted the nostalgic ensemble.

The most heartwarming aspect of this story is the outfit’s origin. Initially planning to wear something different, Alba’s 15-year-old daughter, Haven, stepped in and selected pieces from her own closet to style her mom for the event.

Alba expressed her gratitude to Haven in her Instagram caption, acknowledging her daughter’s contribution to the look. She also tagged friends Keke Palmer and Baby2Baby co-CEO Kelly Sawyer, sharing a group selfie of the trio.

The combination of a Y2K icon and her Gen Z daughter’s wardrobe struck a chord with fans. Many took to social media to comment on how youthful Alba appears at 45, with some suggesting she seems to be aging backward.

For Alba, this throwback is more than just a costume. Making her big-screen debut in ‘Camp Nowhere’ back in 1994, the early 2000s marked the time when she became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable figures.

She has shared how her relationship with fashion has evolved over the years, feeling more at ease in her own skin as she ages and not taking things too seriously. A borrowed star-print top and a low-rise mini perfectly embody that attitude.

Beyond the party scene, Alba has been busy with her career. She founded The Honest Company in 2012 and stepped down as chief creative officer in April 2024, while remaining on the board and focusing on new projects through her production company, Lady Spitfire.

This transition has led to her acting comeback in the Netflix action film ‘Trigger Warning,’ which she also produced. Alba is also a mother of three, with children Honor, Haven, and Hayes.

Recently, she shared a separate summer photo collection featuring beach days and outings with friends, which fans noted had a nostalgic, carefree vibe. The new selfies from the Y2K party have since gained traction on X, with fan accounts reposting them.

Y2K fashion has been experiencing a significant revival, with low-rise skirts, tiny tops, and chunky jewelry making a comeback. When someone who actually lived through that era wears it, it feels less like a trend and more like a nostalgic callback.

With Hilton, Palmer, and Sawyer by her side, Alba made the night feel like the kind of party she would have attended 25 years ago.
