‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Figure Offers First Look at Tombstone’s MCU Design
Fans of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ have received an exciting glimpse of Tombstone’s appearance in the MCU. A newly unveiled action figure showcases Marvin Jones III’s interpretation of the iconic Spider-Man villain, providing a closer look at what audiences can expect when he makes his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The reveal was made by Blokees, which launched a new series of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ figures. As reported by MCU Film News, this collection features a figure of Tombstone dressed in a striking red suit and wielding two large guns. Since the character has yet to appear in any trailers for the movie, this figure serves as the first significant insight into his live-action design.

The design closely aligns with Tombstone’s comic book origins. Known as Lonnie Lincoln, he is depicted as a formidable crime boss within Spider-Man’s universe. The figure captures a classic gangster aesthetic, hinting that Marvel Studios may be opting for a more grounded portrayal of the character.
This isn’t the first time merchandise has hinted at Tombstone’s MCU design. LEGO previously showcased a similar rendition of the character in its ‘Spider-Man Prison Transport Chase’ set. Both figures depict Tombstone with large dual-wielded weapons, suggesting that these guns might play a crucial role in his appearance in ‘Brand New Day.’
While fans eagerly await Marvel Studios’ official unveiling of Tombstone in live action, the toy designs indicate that the character will closely resemble his comic book version, unlike some past adaptations.
Marvin Jones III is well-acquainted with the character, having previously voiced Tombstone in ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’ He is also set to reprise his role as the animated version of the villain in ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ allowing audiences to experience two distinct interpretations of Tombstone from the same actor.
These two portrayals are expected to differ significantly. The animated version presents a more extreme and intimidating look, while the MCU’s Tombstone appears to adopt a more realistic crime boss aesthetic.
Tombstone has featured in various Spider-Man projects over the years. In Insomniac Games’ ‘Spider-Man’ video game, he was depicted as a menacing criminal and biker gang leader who utilized a special substance to numb his pain. Additionally, he appeared in ‘Spider-Noir,’ where Abraham Popoola portrayed a different version of Lonnie Lincoln.
The villain is also set to return in Season 2 of ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.’ This animated series showcases a younger version of Lonnie Lincoln, who is still evolving into the notorious criminal fans recognize from the comics.
As ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ brings together numerous key characters, Tombstone’s role remains one of the film’s biggest enigmas. The movie already boasts a substantial cast, including Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.
Some reports suggest that Tombstone may not serve as the film’s primary antagonist but could instead be a significant threat being developed for future Spider-Man narratives. Speculation from The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez indicates that Tombstone might play a larger role throughout the next Spider-Man trilogy, mirroring the gradual development of major villains in previous Marvel films.
For now, fans must wait for Marvel’s official announcement. However, this new figure has provided the clearest look yet at one of Spider-Man’s most formidable foes making his way into the MCU.
