‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Star Tom Holland Joins Hollywood’s Box Office Elite
Box office milestones are rare for actors, but 2026 has proven to be an exceptional year for Tom Holland. His career has surged at a remarkable pace, thanks to a series of back-to-back blockbusters that have redefined what is achievable for an actor in his twenties.
This momentum kicked off with Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey,’ where Holland portrayed Telemachus in a grand epic that has already surpassed the $1 billion mark globally. Shortly after, he reprised his iconic role in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ a film that has quickly become one of the fastest to achieve staggering worldwide box office numbers.
These two films have catapulted Holland into an elite box office echelon. He is now the third highest-grossing actor of all time at the global box office, following only Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Saldaña, two of the most commercially successful stars in modern cinema.
Saldaña leads the pack with a career total of approximately $15.47 billion, a milestone she reached earlier this year with the release of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash.’ Her impressive filmography includes leading or ensemble roles in four of the seven highest-grossing films ever, such as ‘Avatar,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water.’ Johansson closely follows with around $15.40 billion, largely thanks to her long-standing role as Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Holland’s rapid rise to third place is remarkable not only for its speed but also for the concentrated nature of his growth. His career total was around $13.6 billion before this year’s releases, and the combined global earnings of ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Brand New Day,’ which have already amassed over $2.8 billion, have significantly narrowed the gap between him and Hollywood’s top two earners.
What makes Holland’s position particularly striking is his age. At just 30 years old, he is the youngest actor to break into the top tier of all-time box office rankings, highlighting how much of his career has revolved around defining franchises.
Much of this success can be traced back to his four solo films as Spider-Man, along with key ensemble roles in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ ‘Brand New Day’ alone reached the billion-dollar milestone in just six days, making it the second-fastest film to do so, surpassed only by ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and it continues to add to its total during its theatrical run.
With Holland still years away from slowing down and more MCU appearances likely on the horizon, including potential roles in future Avengers films, his position on this list may not remain fixed at third for long.
