The horror genre has many interesting subgenres, but what fans in the modern era love a lot are post-apocalyptic stories that blend science-fiction and horror, and the upcoming movie Steppenwolf is a brilliant example of that.

The Kazakh movie might not be something you’d expect, but it had its premiere back in 2024 and was shown during several film festivals over the course of the year.

Now, the movie is getting a wide release on home media, and we are happy to present it to you, as well as share the trailer for the movie that won the Golden Raven Grand Prix at the 2024 Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival and the Outstanding Performance Award for its stars at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival.

Before we continue, here is the trailer:

The official synopsis reveals the following details:

Tamara (Anna Starchenko), a young lady consumed by trauma, searches for her missing son, Timka, in a small town dominated by riots and violence. In a desperate attempt to get him back, she teams up with an amoral former police investigator (Berik Aitzhanov) whose methods prove to be frequently cruel and sadistic. Quietly determined, Tamara decides to complete the mission with the nihilistic detective, no matter the cost, as the pair embarks on a bloody and bullet-riddled road trip in their combined search for salvation.

Directed by Adilkhan Yerzhanov, the movie became a surprising hit and Arrow Vide is now releasing it on Blu-ray on May 26, 2025. In case you want to know what the release will provide you with, here is a full list:
