‘The Loyalty Game’ Finale Recap & Ending Explained: Ben’s Secrets Come to Light
Marriage thrillers thrive on their slow burn, and ‘The Loyalty Game’ has spent weeks demonstrating its mastery of this technique. The Prime Video series has centered its first season around a single unraveling thread: a wife’s growing suspicion that her husband is not who he claims to be.
That patience has paid off. What began as a subtle domestic mystery about a woman testing her husband’s fidelity has transformed into something much darker, entangled in accidents, cover-ups, and at least two deaths linked to one man’s past.
Now, with the season finale airing, the most significant reveal of ‘The Loyalty Game’ has arrived. In the penultimate episode, Mara, portrayed by Yassi Pressman, informed Ana that Ben had been concealing his father’s death, and that Regina suspected Ben was responsible for both his father’s demise and the death of Regina’s husband.
The series follows Ana Madrigal, played by Janine Gutierrez, whose seemingly perfect life with her husband Ben, played by Jericho Rosales, begins to unravel the night she wakes up to find him absent from their bed. Convinced something is amiss, Ana seeks help from a group of women who run a covert business testing men’s fidelity, hiring a professional “loyalty tester” to uncover the truth.
This premise, inspired by the real-life “loyalty test” trend that has gained traction on social media, quickly spirals beyond a mere fidelity check. Ben’s denials distort Ana’s perception of reality, and what starts as a suspicion of infidelity unravels into a much larger web involving a family-run sugar refinery, a cover-up, and a woman named Mara who complicates everything Ana thought she understood.
Speaking at a post-screening panel, Jericho Rosales countered the notion that his show is merely another cheating melodrama, asserting that the series aims for a deeper psychological impact than a standard love-triangle narrative. He emphasized that ‘The Loyalty Game’ should not be viewed as just another typical infidelity drama, telling The Post that it isn’t just another “kabitan” show.
By the time the finale aired, the stakes had escalated far beyond marital doubt. Ben found himself the prime suspect in the death of Antonio, a rival for a CEO position, while Beth, one of the loyalty testers, risked exposing her own secret work due to her connections with the family at the center of it all.
Meanwhile, other testers, Diane, Bridgette, and Carlota, faced their own crisis after reporting a missing colleague named Angel, with growing suspicion that one of them was hiding something as well. The show’s ensemble, which also features Charlie Dizon, Sofia Andres, Yen Santos, and Carmina Villaroel, has kept nearly every character harboring a secret as they approached the final episodes.
This density of intrigue has translated into significant momentum for ‘The Loyalty Game.’ The series has remained the most-watched show on Prime Video Philippines throughout its run, while also ranking among the platform’s top titles in Singapore and the UAE.
Set in the fictional town of Vallente and produced by ABS-CBN Studios alongside Star Creatives, the fourteen-episode season released two episodes at a time each Friday, building towards a finale that finally compels Ana to confront everything Mara revealed. Whether Ben’s involvement in those deaths is as incriminating as Regina believes, or something more complex, is precisely the kind of twist the show has been setting up throughout its run.
For a series built on the premise that trust can be manufactured, tested, and shattered, the ending was always going to hinge on whether Ana can accept what she ultimately uncovers about the man beside her.
