‘The Madison’ Season 2 Update Ben Schnetzer Shares Potential Release Timeline
The future of ‘The Madison’ is generating buzz as one of the show’s returning actors has provided a new update regarding the anticipated arrival of season 2.
‘The Madison’ is a Western drama series created by Taylor Sheridan, which premiered on Paramount+ in March. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, the show revolves around family struggles and emotional recovery, set against the backdrops of Manhattan and Montana. It explores how characters navigate loss and the journey of rebuilding their lives.
The inaugural season consisted of six episodes and quickly captured audience interest upon its release. Due to its success, the series has already been linked to future seasons, with early development discussions hinting at a longer run for the show.
Ben Schnetzer, who portrays Van Davis in the series, shared insights on a possible timeline for upcoming developments. He indicated that filming for season 3 might commence in early 2027, which could also impact the release of season 2. However, he clarified that nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
He stated, “I think it’s going to be the top of ’27.”
Schnetzer also explained that the production schedule may be strategically planned to align filming and release timing between seasons. Still, he emphasized that he is not involved in final decisions and is merely sharing his understanding of the current schedule.
He added, “Yeah, because I think they’re kind of timing it with the rollout of when they drop season 2 and then kind of…but again, I’m that guy who’s like, ‘Until they tell me I’m…’ So, I’m just stoked we’re going to come back for season 3.”

In ‘The Madison’, Schnetzer plays the sheriff of the Madison River Valley, a pivotal location in the series. His character is intricately involved in the narrative surrounding Stacy Clyburn, portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer, and her family as they confront personal loss and emotional healing. The season one finale concluded with significant changes for Stacy, paving the way for new storylines in future seasons.
The series boasts a large ensemble cast, including Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Kevin Zegers, and Rebecca Spence. Guest appearances feature Will Arnett and J. August Richards, while Matthew Fox, who was part of season 1, will not return for season 2.
Taylor Sheridan not only created ‘The Madison’ but also serves as an executive producer alongside several collaborators, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. The show follows Sheridan’s trend of producing character-driven dramas that frequently become popular streaming hits for Paramount+.
Reports indicate that ‘The Madison’ performed impressively during its first week of release, attracting significant streaming numbers and strong audience engagement. This success is a key factor in the expectation that the series will continue to grow with additional seasons.
While season 2 has yet to receive an official release date, Schnetzer’s remarks have sparked renewed interest in the show’s future. For now, fans will need to await confirmation from Paramount+, but early indications suggest that ‘The Madison’ is being positioned as a long-term addition to Taylor Sheridan’s television lineup.
