Mia Goth and Cailee Spaeny have established themselves as versatile talents in Hollywood. Goth has transitioned from Ti West’s horror trilogy to Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein,’ while Spaeny has made waves from ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ to a Venice-winning performance in ‘Priscilla.’ Their presence on the same red carpet was a fitting sight, given their busy careers.

The sixth annual Academy Museum Gala took place on October 17 in Los Angeles, celebrating the achievements of Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo, and John Carpenter, with a performance by Taylor Swift. Often dubbed the “Met Gala of the West,” this event follows Fashion Month, attracting guests in fresh runway designs.

Mia Goth and Cailee Spaeny’s looks at the Academy Museum Gala made for a striking combination. In a snapshot from the evening, the two are seen side by side on a white sofa, with Goth in a flowing black satin gown and Spaeny in a vibrant pink satin dress.

Goth opted for a Dior creation, complemented by Dior fine jewelry, featuring a 1970s-inspired black silhouette. The gown boasts a plunging V-neckline, short flutter sleeves, and a belted waist, with soft, flowing fabric that catches the light beautifully. Her long honey-blond hair cascades over her shoulders, and she accessorized with a black handbag, giving the classic black gown a modern twist.

In contrast, Spaeny dazzled in a saturated fuchsia satin gown from Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection. The strapless design is fitted through the bodice and features a dramatic train that bursts into pleated layers of pink. She kept her dark hair simple and carried a small embroidered clutch, allowing the vibrant color and train to take center stage.

The duo’s looks complement each other perfectly. Goth’s gown embodies shadow and softness, while Spaeny’s is all about punch and volume, creating a harmonious visual. The Zoe Report highlighted Spaeny among guests who embraced vibrant shades, praising her gown’s dramatic train and bold pink hue, while also noting Goth’s take on the classic black dress.

On a night filled with sculpted tailoring and sheer layers, Goth and Spaeny offered a refreshing simplicity. They relied on satin and color rather than heavy embellishments.

Goth’s fashion choices have mirrored her career trajectory. At the 2026 Oscars, she attended for the first time, supporting ‘Frankenstein,’ which received nine nominations and was nominated for Best Picture. She also wore a backless black halter gown with a matching shawl at the Golden Globes, where the film was nominated for five awards.

In ‘Frankenstein,’ she portrays both Elizabeth and Frankenstein’s mother, Claire. Additionally, she stars as Melantho in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ and will appear in Shawn Levy’s ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ alongside Ryan Gosling, set to release on May 28, 2027. She remains attached to Marvel’s ‘Blade’ as well.

Spaeny’s career is equally impressive. She won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival and received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Priscilla Presley in ‘Priscilla.’ Following that, she appeared in ‘Civil War,’ ‘Alien: Romulus,’ and ‘Wake Up Dead Man.’

This year, she also took on a producing role in the second season of ‘Beef,’ which earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, showcasing her growth in the industry.

Spaeny has long been linked to fashion, having closed the Miu Miu Spring 2024 show before ‘Priscilla’ premiered and wearing Miu Miu to her first Met Gala in 2024. Her gala look this year, a Valentino piece fresh from the Spring/Summer 2027 runway, illustrates her seamless transition between fashion houses.

Goth has maintained a steady relationship with Dior throughout several 2026 events, establishing a clear red carpet identity for both actresses.

The guest list was star-studded, featuring Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kerry Washington, Janelle Monáe, Anna Kendrick, and Brittany Snow, among others.

Amidst the glamour, the pairing of Goth and Spaeny stood out for its effortless elegance. They exuded a relaxed, glamorous vibe, feeling completely at home on the carpet.

The beauty of their pairing lies in its simplicity. Goth’s black satin gown provides an elegant, moody base, while Spaeny’s fuchsia gown injects energy and drama. Together, they create a striking image that resonates widely for its polished yet fun aesthetic.

This moment serves as a reminder of how impactful style can be through color alone. No intricate embroidery was necessary—just two strong choices and the confidence to wear them.
