‘The Vampire Lestat’ Takes Over Las Vegas Sphere in Bold Marketing Move
AMC’s gothic drama has officially embraced its rock star persona, and the Las Vegas skyline reflects this transformation. Images shared by Film Updates reveal ‘The Vampire Lestat’ branding illuminating the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas mere hours before the series premiere, marking one of the most visually striking promotional stunts in recent television history.
AMC secured prime advertising space on the Sphere, a strategic move that benefits from the shared corporate umbrella of the Dolan family, which includes both AMC and Sphere Entertainment. This display was part of a larger launch strategy that also featured a Times Square billboard through Amazon Music, a mock Rolling Stone cover, and collaborations with brands such as Pom Wonderful, Fender Musical Instruments, and Spanish fashion house Palomo.
The marketing strategy, as explained by AMC’s Chief Marketing Officer Kim Granito, focused on presenting Lestat as a real-world musician rather than merely promoting a television series. Instead of minimizing the season’s rock and roll theme, the network fully embraced it.
This approach culminated in a live event titled The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only, which took place at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on June 2. The event featured a screening of the first episode, followed by a thirty-minute performance by Sam Reid in character as Lestat, accompanied by composer and songwriter Daniel Hart.
The season’s official synopsis presents it as a rock and roll-centric narrative where the Vampire Lestat embarks on an electrifying multi-city tour while being haunted by muses from his rebellious past. The official trailer, released in April, showcases Lestat performing Billy Idol’s iconic “Dancing With Myself” and has been described by AMC as the beginning of an exhilarating new chapter in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe.
Reid reprises his role as Lestat de Lioncourt, with Jacob Anderson returning as Louis, Eric Bogosian back as Daniel Molloy, Assad Zaman as Armand, and Delainey Hayles as Claudia. This third season signifies a major rebranding, as the series, formerly known as ‘Interview with the Vampire’, now carries its new title as a distinct identity.

AMC’s marketing chief emphasized that since the new season tells a completely different story from a fresh perspective, rebranding under a new title felt appropriate.
Granito also noted that previous seasons had successfully reached new audiences through Netflix, helping to cultivate fresh viewership ahead of this new chapter. The Sphere display, glowing in pink and black against the Las Vegas night, serves as the most literal declaration that Lestat has arrived on his own terms.
