Tom Cruise Isn’t Retiring Anytime Soon, Says He Has “3 or 4” Movies Lined Up

If you thought Tom Cruise was planning to retire after filming Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning, think again. Despite being 62 years old, Cruise is far from slowing down.

In fact, he’s busier than ever, still doing his own stunts and making high-octane action movies.

Cruise recently put the retirement rumors to rest, making it clear that he has no plans to step away from the action genre. While some actors might start to take it easy at this age, Cruise is just getting warmed up. Right now, he’s awaiting Mission: Impossible 8 release and working on three to four more movies with his longtime collaborator, director Christopher McQuarrie.

Talking to ET, Cruise explained his passion for filmmaking:

“I work 7 days a week. I live on movie sets, editing rooms. That’s been my life. Right now I’ve just finished another movie, I’ve three to four other movies… McQuarrie and I are lining up. This is what we do.”

Cruise’s dedication to his craft is impressive. While many of us might struggle just to get out of bed without feeling sore, he’s out there jumping off cliffs and performing crazy stunts. It seems like the idea of retirement doesn’t even cross his mind.

Retirement rumors began circulating after the release of Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One. Some fans thought that the upcoming Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning would be his farewell to action films. But Cruise quickly shot down those rumors, saying that he’s far from done with his action-packed career.

One of the upcoming projects is said to be a “gnarly and violent” Rated-R film. This marks a new direction for Cruise, but it still involves the same energy and commitment he’s famous for.

At this point, it’s clear that Cruise is not planning to take it easy anytime soon. Whether it’s high-speed chases, wild stunts, or daring scenes, he’s all in. His partnership with McQuarrie shows no signs of ending either, as they continue to work on more movies together.

So, while the rest of us might be feeling our age, Tom Cruise is proving that he’s still the ultimate action star. Whether he’s running from explosions or flying helicopters, one thing is certain: Cruise is here to stay in the action world.
