Tom Hardy is reportedly no longer part of the Paramount+ crime drama ‘Mobland’ and will not be returning for Season 3. This development follows behind-the-scenes issues during the production of Season 2, as reported by Puck News.

‘Mobland’ is a British crime series created by Ronan Bennett for Paramount+. The show centers on Harry Da Souza, portrayed by Tom Hardy, a fixer working for the influential Harrigan crime family. The cast also features Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, alongside Paddy Considine as Kevin Harrigan. Since its launch in 2025, the series quickly became one of Paramount+’s most-watched titles, ranking second in viewership during its initial run.

Reports indicate that Paramount made the decision not to proceed with Hardy for the third season due to ongoing tensions during the filming of Season 2. Sources suggest that the issues included disagreements over scripts, attempts to modify dialogue, and frequent frustrations on set. Additionally, Hardy was reportedly late to set on several occasions.

The situation escalated to the point where it created friction among key creative figures involved in the show. One insider noted increasing conflict between Hardy and producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser during production. At one stage, the disagreement became so intense that Butterworth contemplated stepping away from the series.

Ultimately, Paramount reportedly opted to part ways with Hardy rather than carry the situation into another season. Industry reports also highlight that Hardy’s contract included a mutual option for Season 3, allowing either party to choose not to continue.

As of now, no official public statement has been issued by Paramount or Hardy’s representatives, both of whom have declined to comment on the matter, according to the same reports.

‘Mobland’ continues to focus on the violent power struggles between rival crime families in London, with Harry Da Souza serving as the key fixer attempting to manage rising tensions and avert a full-scale gang war. The series blends crime drama with family power politics and has been recognized as a significant streaming success for Paramount+ since its debut.

With Hardy now reportedly out, it remains uncertain how Season 3 will progress or whether the character of Harry Da Souza will be recast or written out entirely.
