Tom Holland and Pregnant Anne Hathaway Share a Heartwarming Moment at ‘The Odyssey’ Premiere
Movie premieres often blur into a whirlwind of flashing cameras and quick poses, but occasionally, a single image emerges that captures a truly heartfelt moment. This was the case on Monday night in London, where Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ showcased its expansive cast at the film’s world premiere.
Among the numerous interactions on the red carpet, one moment shone brightly for its warmth. Tom Holland was seen wrapping his arms around Anne Hathaway, both sharing laughter against a backdrop that reflected the film’s oceanic theme, showcasing their onscreen family bond that clearly translated into real-life affection.
This warmth is particularly poignant considering Hathaway’s recent announcement. In June, she revealed that she is expecting her third child, and she graced the London premiere in a strapless baby blue Dior gown, cradling her baby bump and celebrating both the film and her expanding family.
Hathaway’s gown featured an empire waist with soft pleats from top to hem, adorned with Bvlgari jewels and a blue floral detail at the waist designed to flatter her pregnancy. Photographers captured her in joyful moments throughout the evening, often with one hand resting gently on her bump as she posed with her castmates.
The actress shared her pregnancy news on Instagram with a short video set to Barbara Lewis’ “Baby, I’m Yours,” where she walked into frame in a flowing white gown before revealing her bump with a smile and captioning the post simply, “x Baby, I’m yours x.” Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman, married since 2012, are already parents to two sons.
This announcement came during one of Hathaway’s busiest years, with ‘Mother Mary’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ already released, and ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘The End of Oak Street’ still on the horizon. She has turned much of her press tour into an unofficial maternity fashion showcase, showcasing looks that range from bold red ensembles to relaxed all-black outfits, culminating in the standout Dior gown for the London premiere.
In Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic, Hathaway portrays Penelope, the queen of Ithaca who maintains her kingdom while Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, embarks on his long and treacherous journey home from the Trojan War. Holland takes on the role of Telemachus, the son of Penelope and Odysseus, placing him at the emotional heart of the story alongside Hathaway.
This family dynamic was evident off-camera as well, with the embrace between the two actors becoming one of the most shared images from the premiere. The night was filled with standout appearances from the film’s star-studded cast, including Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson, all gathered ahead of the film’s release.
‘The Odyssey’ opens in theaters on July 17, offering audiences their first glimpse of the family dynamics that extend well beyond the screen.
