Tom Holland’s Earnings for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Revealed
Superhero franchises have a long-standing tradition of elevating young actors to become some of Hollywood’s highest earners, and Tom Holland’s journey with ‘Spider-Man’ exemplifies this trend perfectly. What began as a modest salary for a relatively unknown British actor has quietly transformed into one of the most lucrative contracts in the industry.
This evolution has taken another significant leap forward following the record-breaking success of Holland’s latest portrayal of Peter Parker. The film has already surpassed $2 billion at the global box office within just three weeks of its release, solidifying its status as the most profitable installment in the entire ‘Spider-Man’ franchise.
Now, a new exclusive report reveals just how much Holland stands to make from this success. According to TheWrap, Holland secured a base salary of at least $20 million for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ with the potential to earn over $100 million once backend bonuses linked to the film’s box office performance are included.
This base figure already represents a $10 million increase from what Holland earned for his previous ‘Spider-Man’ appearance. According to three sources familiar with the deal, his backend bonus structure has no cap, meaning there’s technically no limit on how much he could ultimately earn as the film’s global earnings continue to rise.
Holland’s payday places him among Hollywood’s top-earning actors, especially considering the remarkable growth of his salary since his early days in the franchise. He reportedly earned just $250,000 for his debut as Spider-Man in 2016’s ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ a figure that has skyrocketed with each subsequent appearance as his star power and box office appeal have increased.
The lucrative backend arrangement isn’t unprecedented in Marvel’s history, but the scale involved is still impressive. Actor Tom Hollander previously shared on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ that he once mistakenly received a check intended for Holland related to an early box office bonus payment.

“It was an astonishing amount of money. It was not his salary. It was his first box office bonus. Not the whole of it, the first one. And it was more money than I’ve ever — it was a seven-figure sum,” Hollander stated, according to TheWrap’s coverage of the incident.
This type of bonus structure mirrors the path Robert Downey Jr. took after starring in Marvel’s original ‘Iron Man,’ a film that became foundational to the studio’s cinematic universe and helped turn Downey Jr. into one of the industry’s highest-paid stars. Holland’s current trajectory seems to be following a similar path within the Marvel ecosystem.
This year has been particularly lucrative for Holland beyond just his ‘Spider-Man’ earnings. His compensation for ‘Brand New Day’ comes in addition to separate earnings from his role in ‘The Odyssey,’ another major global hit that has continued to break records throughout 2026.
Sony declined to comment on cast salary details when contacted, and representatives for Holland did not respond to requests for comment regarding the reported figures. Nevertheless, with ‘Brand New Day’ showing no signs of slowing down at the box office, Holland’s final earnings could exceed the currently reported $100 million minimum.
For an actor who has spent years building his career one ‘Spider-Man’ appearance at a time, this latest deal represents a significant financial milestone in his career.
