Wolverine May Already Exist in the MCU and ‘She-Hulk’ Left Clues for Fans
As the X-Men make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel has been dropping hints for years. Some of these clues are obvious casting teases, while others are subtle background details that might be overlooked during a first viewing. One of the most intriguing Wolverine Easter eggs in the MCU is now appearing more significant than ever.
The excitement is building. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to premiere on Dec. 18, featuring Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Channing Tatum, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn confirmed for the X-Men storyline. Hugh Jackman has hinted at a possible return as Wolverine, although his future in the MCU remains uncertain.
Before all that, however, ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘ dropped a hint in its second episode, ‘Superhuman Law.’ After Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) loses her job, she browses a quirky job website, where the sidebar features two related articles: “Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl” and “Why there is a giant statue of a man sticking out of the ocean.”
With the X-men coming to the mcu soon, a friendly reminder that Wolverine might already exist, per She-Hulk easter egg

The first headline clearly references Wolverine, the X-Men’s iconic metal-clawed character. It also mirrors a scene from the original ‘X-Men’ movie, where Hugh Jackman’s Logan engages in a bar fight and reveals his claws. SYFY Wire suggested this could be an inside joke from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who started his career as a producer on that initial film.
The second headline alludes to the conclusion of ‘Eternals,’ which featured the petrified Celestial Tiamut protruding from the Indian Ocean. This made ‘She-Hulk’ the first MCU project to acknowledge this event since the film’s release. Uproxx noted that this Wolverine reference marks the third time the MCU hinted at the existence of mutants.
The connection between these two headlines became clearer in ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ The film introduced a new metal, adamantium, discovered on Celestial Island, formed when Tiamut emerged in the Indian Ocean. President Ross hosted a summit with world leaders as nations competed to claim ownership of this valuable resource.
In the comics, adamantium is the metal that encases Wolverine’s skeleton and claws. Director Julius Onah confirmed that it will eventually play a role in Wolverine’s story within the MCU, describing it as a resource that could significantly impact the world, unlike vibranium, which is associated with Wakanda.
Currently, adamantium is appearing in weaponry. In the second episode of ‘VisionQuest,’ titled ‘Theseus,’ the bounty hunter Paladin (Todd Stashwick) uses adamantium rounds to inflict serious damage on Vision, whose body is typically nearly invulnerable. This vividly illustrates how this new material could alter the dynamics of combat in the MCU.
Utilizing ‘She-Hulk’ as a springboard for Wolverine also aligns with his comic book origins. The character made his debut in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ #180, where he faced off against the Hulk while tracking the Wendigo. Uproxx speculated that Wolverine’s first fight in the MCU might involve Bruce Banner’s super-powered cousin.
Marvel has also been expanding its mutant roster in other ways. Recent reports indicate that Sadie Sink, Samara Weaving, and Inde Navarrette are leading a new generation of X-Men introduced by the studio, although details remain scarce.
When pieced together, the clues are hard to overlook. A bar-brawl headline in ‘She-Hulk,’ a Celestial made of adamantium, and a mercenary using adamantium rounds in ‘VisionQuest’ all suggest a world being primed for Wolverine’s arrival.
