‘X-Men’ Star Maya Boyd Shines at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week Show
Fashion Week front rows are often a blend of seasoned stars and emerging talents, and the latest Paris edition showcased both in abundance. Among the rising stars making waves is ‘X-Men’ actress Maya Boyd, a Broadway performer now gearing up to join the Marvel universe.
Boyd’s ascent has been rapid, even by Hollywood standards. Just a few months ago, she was primarily known to theatergoers and her social media followers. Now, she is stepping into a role previously held by two Hollywood actresses.
Her most recent appearance was on Tuesday at Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 show, held at the Cour Carrée of the Louvre.

Boyd opted for a sleek, polished outfit that showcased her personality. She wore a short black double-breasted jacket adorned with gold buttons and leather-trimmed cuffs, complemented by a matching black mini skirt. Her natural curls cascaded around her shoulders, and her radiant smile added to her striking presence.
A standout accessory was her monogram clutch, which featured a chain strap and a tan luggage-style tag, lending a classic Louis Vuitton flair to her otherwise minimalist ensemble. The subdued color palette was perfect for a show centered on lightness and simplicity.

The show itself was a significant event, occurring shortly after President Emmanuel Macron honored Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s women’s artistic director, with the insignia of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur. Ghesquière unveiled a futuristic, minimalist collection, set against a backdrop designed to evoke an urban jungle.
The front row was filled with celebrity names, including Zendaya, Emma Stone, Lisa, Sophie Turner, and Ana de Armas. Boyd held her own among such company, highlighting her swift acceptance into the fashion scene.
Boyd was announced as Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, on August 14 at Disney’s D23 event in Anaheim, California. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed the initial cast for the upcoming ‘X-Men’ film, directed by Jake Schreier, which also features Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Samara Weaving, Inde Navarrette, and Adam Driver.
This role marks the 23-year-old’s feature film debut, following Halle Berry’s portrayal of Storm in four films and Alexandra Shipp’s younger version of the character. Boyd expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating her honor in taking on the franchise’s Storm.
Before her Marvel journey, Boyd trained as a ballerina before transitioning to musical theater at the University of Michigan. She made her Broadway debut in ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ while still a senior and later took on the lead role of Juliet in ‘& Juliet.’ Recently, she starred in August Wilson’s ‘Joe Turner’s Come and Gone’ as Molly Cunningham.
With over 450,000 followers on TikTok, she has gained popularity through skits, family videos, and singing clips. Boyd’s combination of stage talent, social media presence, and Hollywood potential is unique. Her fashion appearances are sure to attract even more attention as the film’s release approaches.
The ‘X-Men’ film is set to hit theaters in May 2028, leaving fans with a long wait to see her in costume. In the meantime, moments like this one provide a glimpse of the star power that Marvel is banking on. If this appearance is any indication, the new Storm has a promising future ahead.
