Zac Efron is not one to frequently share personal updates on social media, which is why his rare Instagram posts create such excitement among fans. The ‘High School Musical’ star has kept a low profile as summer comes to a close, making any glimpse into his life feel special.
Recently, Zac enjoyed a laid-back getaway with his younger brother, Dylan Efron, and a group of friends. The Efron brothers have a knack for turning ordinary moments into viral sensations, largely due to Dylan’s more active social media presence compared to Zac’s quieter demeanor.
Dylan took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos from their outing, captioning it with a simple “Taking it easy ☀️.” The images featured the brothers enjoying a day on a boat with friends, taking turns wakeboarding, and later hitting the golf course, all while showcasing their impressive physiques in matching black swim trunks.
Fans quickly flooded the comments section with their reactions to the shirtless photos. In a 2021 interview with BroBible, Dylan shared that they “were always fighting with each other” as kids, describing their relationship as “super combative” due to their age difference and contrasting personalities.
However, that dynamic evolved as Dylan matured, with the actor crediting Zac for guiding him as he transitioned into adulthood. “Once I graduated college, Zac really took me under his wing and let me live with him when I got my first job in Los Angeles,” Dylan recounted.
Zac has echoed this sentiment, noting how their bond has influenced his career. “I’m a big brother myself, I love him to death, there’s a certain kind of relationship — it’s just a brother bond,” Zac told Entertainment Tonight, reflecting on how his relationship with Dylan shaped a role he played as the eldest of five brothers.
Dylan has described himself as the quieter counterpart to his more outgoing brother. “As a kid, I would get red-faced talking in front of five people. I was Zac’s polar opposite. I was very much a sports player who was quiet and shy,” he shared, highlighting their differing personalities during childhood.
This shyness extended to social media, with Dylan admitting he didn’t join platforms like Instagram until his mid-twenties, as he was “very private” for much of his early life. Nowadays, that has clearly changed, as he frequently shares their adventures with nearly two million followers.
The recent boat day photos come about two years after Zac was hospitalized due to a serious pool incident in Ibiza, where he suffered water inhalation after diving into shallow water. Seeing him healthy, relaxed, and enjoying time with family has contributed to the warm reception of these latest shirtless snapshots.
As summer draws to a close, it appears the Efron brothers are determined to make the most of the remaining sunshine.
