Matt Reeves Reveals ‘The Batman – Part 2’ Cast List in Unique Social Media Posts

Matt Reeves has begun to unveil the cast of ‘The Batman – Part 2’ in an innovative manner, utilizing social media posts that reference scenes and characters from the original film.

The updates were shared by director Matt Reeves on X on May 14. Rather than simply posting a standard cast list, he incorporated GIFs from ‘The Batman’ (2022) and included brief, personal messages for each returning actor.

Each post felt more like a conversation than an announcement, as Reeves crafted small greetings to the characters. He first addressed Robert Pattinson, who portrays Bruce Wayne, with the message “We meet again, my friend.”

Next, he posted for Jeffrey Wright, who plays Jim Gordon, with the message “Here we go again, my friend.” Following that, he shared a note for Andy Serkis, returning as Alfred Pennyworth, stating “Are you ready, my friend…?”

Reeves continued with additional cast members. Colin Farrell, who plays Oz Cobb, received the message “Round two, my friend…?” while Jayme Lawson, portraying Bella Reál, was welcomed back with “Welcome back to the fight, my friend.” Reeves also shared a brief note for Gil Perez-Abraham, writing “Hey! Mr. Martinez!”

After the initial wave of reveals, Reeves informed fans that more announcements would follow the next day, teasing with “More… tomorrow…”

The sequel has already confirmed and rumored casting news, with Sebastian Stan confirming his involvement, while names like Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance have surfaced in early speculation.

‘The Batman – Part 2’ was initially teased with a Batmobile test image shared by Reeves. The film is expected to unfold in a winter setting, continuing the darker tone established in the first movie.

Filming is set to commence in June, with Mattson Tomlin co-writing the script alongside Reeves. This movie will be released under DC Studios’ Elseworlds label, indicating it exists outside the main DC Universe storyline being developed by James Gunn.

Warner Bros. has slated ‘The Batman – Part 2’ for release on October 1, 2027. Reeves’ gradual reveal strategy has kept fans engaged, with more casting updates anticipated soon.
