Mckenna Grace and ‘Scooby-Doo’ Cast Dazzle in Medieval Costumes at Renaissance Fair
Photos circulating online have sparked conversations about a weekend outing featuring actress and singer Mckenna Grace alongside the cast of ‘Scooby-Doo’, all dressed in stunning medieval-style outfits at a Renaissance fair.
The buzz began with images shared on social media, where fans quickly noticed the group’s costumes and speculated about the event.
The images suggest a casual visit to a Renaissance fair rather than a film set. The group embraced the day in full costume, enjoying a fun outing together.
In the snapshots, Mckenna Grace stands out in gleaming armor wielding a sword, while her friends sport their own fantasy-inspired outfits.
One fan’s reaction captured the confusion perfectly, stating, “I thought it was part of a series, but they just went to a Renaissance fair… their costumes look somewhat elaborate for just a visit among friends!”
Currently, a live-action ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’ is in the works at Netflix, produced by Berlanti Productions. The series was first reported in April 2024, with Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg attached as writers, and executive production led by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Jonathan Gabay, and Adrienne Erickson of Midnight Radio.
By March 2025, the project had officially entered production planning and was confirmed to consist of eight episodes.
Casting updates have been revealed gradually. In December 2025, Frank Welker was announced to reprise his iconic voice role as Scooby-Doo. In February, Mckenna Grace joined the cast as Daphne Blake, a role she had previously voiced as a younger version in Scoob!. In March, additional casting announcements confirmed Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.
By April, Netflix officially unveiled the title Scooby-Doo: Origins and confirmed that the series had entered active production in Atlanta.
Overall, the project has evolved from early development in 2024 to full production by 2026, assembling a new live-action cast while also bringing back Frank Welker’s beloved voice performance.
