A Minnesota woman’s arrest photo has unexpectedly captured the internet’s attention after social media users pointed out her striking resemblance to Jennifer Lopez. Identified as 35-year-old Cyrena Anne Quast, she was arrested in August for an alleged shoplifting incident, but it was her mugshot that quickly became the focus of online discussions.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by The Watch MN, Quast was apprehended on Aug. 30 after being accused of stealing two double packs of power tool batteries valued at approximately $580 from a Monticello store. A store employee recognized her from a previous theft just two days prior and alerted the authorities.

During questioning, Quast reportedly confessed to taking the battery packs, as stated in the complaint. Online arrest records indicate she was booked on a gross misdemeanor theft charge and was released the following day, as reported by the Daily Mail.

While such cases might typically go unnoticed beyond local news, Quast’s mugshot went viral as users highlighted her resemblance to Lopez, leading to a flurry of memes, jokes, and comments about the unexpected celebrity lookalike.

Many social media users initially mistook the photo for that of the famous singer and actress. One user humorously remarked, “For a moment I thought it was jlo lmao,” while another added, “There’s a glitch in the matrix lol.” The comments quickly evolved into references to Lopez’s music, particularly her iconic 2002 hit.

Lopez’s song “Jenny from the Block” became a source of inspiration for many online. Instead of merely calling Quast a lookalike, users began to remix the song in light of the mugshot situation.

“In prison she’s known as Jenny from D-Block!” one user joked. Another quipped, “Jenny been walking the block too much.” Someone else chimed in with, “She’s definitely still Jenny from the block.”

One particularly enthusiastic commenter even urged Lopez to get involved, writing, “JENNIFER IF YOU DONT COME CLAIM YOUR SISTER RIGHT NEEOWWWWWWWW & DO THIS DNA TESTTTT. Do it for us. dis yo sistaaaaa gurlllllllllll.”

The humor surrounding the mugshot has propelled it beyond a local news story, with users sharing it widely on social media and debating the extent of the resemblance. There’s no indication that Quast is related to Lopez; the similarity is merely a curious observation made by internet users after seeing the booking photo.

As reported by The Watch MN, Quast is originally from Saint Cloud. Her arrest followed an employee’s recognition of her from a previous theft earlier that week. The Daily Mail also confirmed that she was released the day after her arrest.

Online records suggest that this August incident is not Quast’s first encounter with law enforcement, though the current viral attention is primarily focused on her uncanny resemblance to one of the world’s most famous entertainers.

For now, Jennifer Lopez continues to be herself, while Quast has unexpectedly become a viral sensation. This routine Minnesota arrest has transformed into one of those bizarre internet moments that no one anticipated — all sparked by a single mugshot that left everyone wondering: Is that really J.Lo?
