‘Violent Night 2’ Star Daniela Melchior Shares Insights on Her Home Workout Routine
Daniela Melchior has established her Hollywood career with roles that showcase her talent beyond just a pretty face. After gaining recognition as Ratcatcher 2 in James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad,’ the Portuguese actress has secured roles in various blockbusters, action films, and comedies.
Following her breakout, she appeared in ‘Fast X’ as Isabel and had a brief role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.’ She also starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the ‘Road House’ remake, which set streaming records upon its March 2024 release. This isn’t the first time Melchior has showcased her training on social media. In 2024, Celebwell noted her posts featuring workout gear as she prepared for ‘The Suicide Squad.’
This history of sharing her fitness journey resonates with fans, especially as her roles have increasingly required physicality, from action-packed superhero scenes to the dynamic sequences in ‘Road House.’
The timing of her posts also coincides with the anticipation for her upcoming release. ‘Violent Night 2’ is set to hit theaters on December 4, with Melchior starring alongside David Harbour, who reprises his role as the hard-fighting Santa Claus, and Kristen Bell as Mrs. Claus.
Deadline exclusively reported in August 2025 that both Melchior and Bell joined the cast. Tommy Wirkola returns as director, working from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The sequel follows Santa as he battles a ruthless gangster threatening the merchants of the Silver Bell Mall.
Jared Harris, Joe Pantoliano, Maxwell Friedman, and Andrew Bachelor complete the ensemble. While details about her character remain under wraps, the film promises to be an action-comedy that rewards performers adept at stunts.
Born on November 1, 1996, in Almada, Portugal, Melchior began her career in 2014 and made her film debut in 2018 with ‘The Black Book.’ She was primarily known for Portuguese-language projects until her casting in ‘The Suicide Squad’ by Gunn.
Her audition featured a darker, more eccentric take on the character, which resonated with Gunn and led to her casting. This performance made her a standout in the film and opened doors to numerous international roles.
Melchior has also expressed interest in her future within the DC Universe. In an interview with Nestor Cine, she mentioned being open to exploring another character in Gunn’s DC Universe, although there are currently no confirmed plans for Ratcatcher 2’s return.
