Eva Longoria is a familiar face on the Academy Museum Gala carpet, having attended the event for years. In 2024, she co-chaired the gala alongside Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek Pinault, Tyler Perry, and Dr. Eric Esrailian, adding to the excitement surrounding her appearances.

Her recent looks have showcased a variety of styles. At the 2024 gala, she opted for a striking black Georges Hobeika gown adorned with sequins and cutouts, complemented by jewelry from Simon G. The following year, she made a bold statement in a shimmering pink and white sequin gown that sparked mixed reactions online.

This year’s 6th annual gala took place on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The evening honored Charlize Theron with the Icon Award, Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award, and John Carpenter with the Luminary Award. Eva Longoria graced the guest list and arrived in a stunning black gown that captured everyone’s attention.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star wore a captivating black off-the-shoulder gown that accentuated her petite figure. The dress featured a dramatic mermaid silhouette with a structured neckline and sparkling embellishments at the hips. The flowing skirt, enhanced with pleated detailing, added movement as she posed for photos.

This look marked a polished departure from last year’s pastel sequins. While the 2025 gown was all about shimmer, this year’s design focused on shape, structure, and texture. The off-the-shoulder neckline and fitted bodice transitioned into a flared skirt, creating a cinematic entrance.

Longoria kept her accessories minimal to highlight the gown. She added sparkle with dazzling diamond earrings and statement rings, while her brunette hair was styled in a chic updo with blunt bangs. The jewelry was sourced from Parure Atelier.

The bangs lent a retro touch that complemented the gown’s sculpted lines. Together, the updo and neckline emphasized her shoulders and face, ensuring that the dress remained the focal point.

Longoria also shared memorable moments on the carpet with fellow guests. Photos from the night captured her alongside Rhea Seehorn, Issa Rae, and Hannah Waddingham, adding extra star power to the event. These group shots have become a charming tradition of the gala, showcasing a mix of stars from film, television, and music.

Black was a recurring theme at the gala. Charlize Theron turned heads in a daring sheer black lace gown, while Jessica Lange made a rare appearance in a sophisticated black lace dress. Jessica Biel opted for a black velvet gown with a thigh-high slit and extravagant feather detailing.

Others took a different approach. Demi Moore wore a striking two-tone gown with a sculpted black strapless bodice and a voluminous lilac skirt, while Kate Hudson embraced old Hollywood glamour in a sparkling strapless creation. Joey King chose a teal and black ensemble with opera gloves, and Adria Arjona donned a strapless black gown with a white bustier. Amidst this backdrop, Longoria’s mermaid gown stood out for its clean lines and flowing hem.

The evening featured a performance by Taylor Swift, who arrived in a pale blue pleated silk Dior gown adorned with a beaded bow. She performed “The Fate of Ophelia” live for the first time, providing a fitting conclusion to a night that celebrated fashion, film history, and fundraising.

Often dubbed the Met Gala of the West, this event follows the global fashion weeks, showcasing fresh looks straight from the runway. The gala raises funds for the museum’s exhibitions, public screenings, and educational programs, with last year’s event raising over $12 million.
