Arnold Schwarzenegger Reacts to Son Patrick’s Nude Scene in The White Lotus: “This Is Crazy”

Arnold Schwarzenegger had a big reaction to his son Patrick’s bold role in the latest season of The White Lotus. The two recently sat down for a chat on Variety’s Actors on Actors series, where they talked about acting, their careers, and that surprising nude scene.

Patrick, who plays Saxon Ratliff on the HBO show, takes on a wild and confident character. He had already described Saxon in a past interview with USA TODAY as someone who “leads with his penis; quite literally, that’s how he walks.” The role includes a full-frontal nude scene that got a lot of attention.

Arnold admitted he was shocked when he saw it. “I couldn’t believe it. I said to myself, ‘I’m watching your show, and I’m watching your butt sticking out there. And all of a sudden, I see the weenie. … What is going on here? This is crazy,’” he told Patrick during their interview.

But after his initial surprise, Arnold remembered his own film history. He said he did similar scenes in movies like Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator. “It was a shock to me that you were following my footsteps that closely,” he said.

Despite the playful teasing, Arnold was clearly proud of Patrick’s performance. “Your acting surprised the hell out of me. Not that I didn’t know that you’re good… but it was just unbelievable, the kind of stuff that you did in the show,” he said.

Back in February, both attended the premiere of The White Lotus Season 3 in Los Angeles. After the event, Arnold posted about it on Instagram, writing, “What a show! I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
