CBS’ New ‘NCIS: New York’ Series Welcomes Four New Cast Members
CBS is once again expanding the NCIS universe with its upcoming series ‘NCIS: New York’, and the latest spinoff has welcomed four new actors to its cast. As reported by Variety, Jennifer Beals, Jacqueline Byers, Shane Harper, and Devin Druid have all been added as series regulars.
These four new cast members will join previously announced leads LL Cool J and Scott Caan. The series will see LL Cool J reprise his popular character Sam Hanna, the NCIS Special Agent he portrayed for 14 seasons on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’.
‘NCIS: New York’ will follow Sam Hanna as he returns to his hometown and becomes part of the NCIS New York field office. The official series description indicates that Hanna will collaborate with a new partner while leading a team tackling high-stakes cases across one of the world’s busiest cities and ports.
The storyline will introduce a fresh group of agents while also tying into the broader NCIS franchise. Scott Caan will portray a “roguish agent” who partners with Hanna as they confront high-risk investigations.
Jennifer Beals, known for her roles in ‘The L Word’ and ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’, will take on the role of Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells. Her character is depicted as the leader of the NCIS New York office, relying on her instincts and earning the respect of her team.
Jacqueline Byers, recognized for her work in ‘Salvation’ and ‘Dark Winds’, will play NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross. This character is characterized as a strong and determined agent, skilled in the field and eager to prove herself.
Shane Harper, known from ‘Good Luck Charlie’ and ‘Power Book IV: Force’, joins the cast as NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill. His character is portrayed as fearless and talented during missions, yet he also has a softer side as a hopeless romantic.
Devin Druid, who starred in ’13 Reasons Why’ and ‘Olive Kitteridge’, will take on the role of NCIS Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan. His character is described as smart and humorous, though he doesn’t always follow orders easily.
The pilot for ‘NCIS: New York’ was penned by R. Scott Gemmill, who previously worked on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ and served as showrunner for several seasons of that series. Gemmill is also known for his contributions to HBO Max’s ‘The Pitt’. Byron Balasco, creator of the series ‘Kingdom’ and a contributor to ‘Without a Trace’, will serve as showrunner for this new NCIS entry.
Gemmill and Balasco will executive produce the series alongside Adam Davidson, Kyle Harimoto, Joe Wilson, LL Cool J, and Jason Barrett. The show is produced by CBS Studios and will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
‘NCIS: New York’ joins a growing franchise that remains one of CBS’s most significant television brands. The original ‘NCIS’ is gearing up for its 24th season, while ‘NCIS: Origins’ is returning for its third season. The network continues to air ‘NCIS: Sydney’, with previous spinoffs including ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, ‘NCIS: Hawaiʻi’, and ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’.
With a familiar face returning in LL Cool J and a new team of agents joining the narrative, ‘NCIS: New York’ is poised to be the latest major addition to the long-running crime drama franchise.
