David Zaslav Announces That the Release Date for the Next ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movie Will Be Revealed Today
The Lord of the Rings franchise is one of the biggest fictional franchises of all time. The book series by J.R.R. Tolkien became a proper hit and is now regarded as a pillar of all modern fantasy works.
After several animated adaptations, the book series was immortalized in the history of pop culture by Peter Jackson’s trilogy, which is now considered one of the best movie trilogies of all time. A subsequent trilogy adapting The Hobbit was also made.
But, we also know that a new movie is on its way, as Andy Serkis is coming back to the role of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which currently has a scheduled 2027 release, but we might know more soon!
Namely, the current Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has confirmed during a recent investors call that an official release date for the next Lord of the Rings movie will be revealed today, which is an exciting announcement that we are looking forward to:
And while we don’t have any additional information, it is likely that we won’t be getting just the release date but also some other information about the movie, possibly some new cast members.
Of course, it could be possible that the movie in question is not The Hunt for Gollum but a completely new project, so fans should be prepared for that as well. Since we don’t have any precise information, there is room for speculation, so be prepared for the unexpected, although the Gollum movie is the most likely candidate.
