‘The Hunting Wives’ is a drama series based on May Cobb’s novel. It follows a group of affluent East Texas socialites who become embroiled in secrets, relationships, and a murder investigation that alters everything around them. The show features Malin Akerman as Margo Banks, Brittany Snow as Sophie, and Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks, a powerful Texas politician and oil tycoon.

The narrative centers on Sophie, a newcomer from Boston who is drawn into the glamorous yet perilous world of the “Hunting Wives,” an exclusive group of women. As her relationships within the group intensify, a local teen’s murder disrupts their lives and reveals hidden truths.
Mulroney also hinted at what lies ahead for his character in the upcoming seasons, suggesting that the intensity of the story will escalate.
“The second season is not chained to a novel, and they go off… off of the chain. So stay tuned. Well worth the binge watch,” he remarked.
The first season of ‘The Hunting Wives’ debuted in July 2025 and quickly captured attention on Netflix, thanks to its blend of drama, mystery, and scandal. Season 2 is anticipated to premiere in September, although Netflix has yet to confirm an exact release date.
With early development reportedly in progress for season 3, fans of the series may not have reached the conclusion of the story yet, especially as the show continues to evolve beyond the original book material.
