Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden, Olivia Colman to Star in Netflix’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’

Jane Austen is a classic of English literature and one of the most popular authors of all time. In her books, she managed to provide us with detailed psychological insights into her complex characters, as well as a strong sense of social criticism. In more ways than one, she was ahead of her time.
Among her works, Pride and Prejudice is one of the most popular, if not the most popular. It has been adapted several times, including the lauded miniseries starring Colin Firth, as well as the theatrical movie starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.
Now, it is time for a new adaptation. Netflix has confirmed that work on a new adaptation is on the way, and we now have the names of the three main cast members.
The new adaptation will be written by Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), while the confirmed cast members include:
As you can see, Emma Corrin is portraying Elizabeth Bennet, the stoic heroine of the story whose relationship with Mr. Darcy is in the center of it all. While we’re mentioning Mr. Darcy, he is going to be played by Jack Lowden. Finally, Oscar-winner Olivia Colman will join the cast as Mrs. Bennet, Lizzie’s mother.
More cast members are to be revealed at a later date, as well as more information about the show. For now, we can just confirm that the adaptation will be executive produced by Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point.
