A brand-new animated series called Mister Miracle is on the way, and it’s coming from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios. This news was shared during the Annecy Animation Festival, where the studios revealed that the show is officially happening.

The series is based on the popular 12-issue comic by Tom King and Mitch Gerads. Tom King, who helped create the comic, is going to be in charge of the show. He’ll be the showrunner and also an executive producer.

Right now, there’s no word yet on which network or platform will be streaming Mister Miracle. The studios said more details will be announced during their showcase this Friday, which will focus on adult animated shows.

Mister Miracle is only the second adult animated show made by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over in 2022. The first one was Creature Commandos, which is already getting a second season on HBO Max. Other new animated DC projects that fans can expect include Starfire!, My Adventures with Green Lantern, and DC Super Powers.

The story of Mister Miracle follows a man named Scott Free. He’s famous for being the best escape artist in the world. He lives with his wife, Big Barda, and they seem to have a perfect life—until things start falling apart. A big war breaks out between two planets, Apocalypse and New Genesis, and Scott’s adoptive father, the powerful Darkseid, may have taken control of something called the Anti-Life Equation. This force is strong enough to take over the entire universe.

As the war gets worse, Scott might be the only one who can stop it. But there’s a problem—the Anti-Life Equation might already be messing with his mind. He starts to lose touch with reality, and even his life with Barda starts to feel like it’s slipping away.

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios promised that more news about the series will be revealed at their adult animation event this Friday. Keep an eye out for updates.
