New ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Promo Offers Fans A Fresh Glimpse
The latest promo for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been unveiled, providing fans with another exciting preview of the upcoming Marvel film set to hit theaters on July 31. This installment is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and continues Peter Parker’s journey following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
As revealed by Sony Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures, the film follows Peter Parker as he navigates a new life where no one remembers him. He remains committed to protecting New York City while facing new threats and adapting to changes in his powers. This film is also a key part of Phase Six of the MCU.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the screenplay is crafted by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, and Justin Kuritzkes. The narrative draws inspiration from the Marvel Comics storyline Brand New Day, which centered around a significant reset in Spider-Man’s life and identity.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. In this narrative, Peter finds himself isolated and acts as a street-level hero in New York City, striving to balance his life while confronting a new menace. Holland has indicated that this portrayal reveals a different facet of the character as he transitions into adulthood and embraces full responsibility as Spider-Man.
Zendaya returns as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, who is now a student at MIT. Jacob Batalon also reprises his role as Ned Leeds, who is attending the same institution. Their lives have evolved since high school, and Peter is no longer a part of their daily existence.
Sadie Sink joins the cast in an undisclosed role, while Jon Bernthal appears as Frank Castle / Punisher, a brutal vigilante employing extreme measures to combat crime. His character adds a darker tone to certain aspects of the story. Tramell Tillman portrays Bill Metzger, the head of the Department of Damage Control, which oversees superpowered individuals.
Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan / Scorpion, a criminal who previously clashed with Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Mark Ruffalo also makes a return as Bruce Banner / Hulk. In this narrative, Banner serves as a professor at Empire State University, assisting Peter in understanding the changes affecting his powers. He utilizes an inhibitor device to manage his transformations, while the film also delves into the resurgence of his more aggressive Hulk persona.
Production for the film commenced after years of development. Discussions for a fourth Spider-Man film began in 2019, and by 2021, producer Amy Pascal confirmed plans for a new trilogy featuring Tom Holland. The story’s development followed soon after, with writers McKenna and Sommers returning to the project. Director Destin Daniel Cretton joined in 2024, with Justin Kuritzkes assisting in the script rewrite. Filming occurred between August and December 2025 in locations such as Glasgow and parts of England, alongside studio work at Pinewood Studios.
The plot is set four years after Peter Parker was erased from public memory due to a spell cast by Doctor Strange. According to the official synopsis from Sony, Peter continues his fight against crime alone while investigating an escalating threat. Simultaneously, his powers begin to evolve in potentially perilous ways.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release in the United States on July 31.
