‘Off Campus’ Showrunner Reveals Season 2 Focus: Allie and Dean Take Center Stage
The showrunner of ‘Off Campus’ has confirmed significant changes for season two, particularly regarding the new central characters.
After the first season centered on Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, portrayed by Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli, the narrative will now shift to a new couple. Showrunner Louisa Levy announced that season two will spotlight Hannah’s best friend Allie Hayes and hockey player Dean Di Laurentis, with Allie played by Mika Abdalla and Dean by Stephen Kalyn.
Levy clarified that this pairing was always part of the plan, albeit arriving sooner than some fans anticipated. The decision was made to introduce the next main storyline while the first season was still airing.
She stated, “I wanted viewers to know who they were going to be tuning in for next.” Allie and Dean’s relationship already has a complex foundation in the story, making it logical to advance their dynamic rather than delay it.
The series is adapted from the book series by Elle Kennedy, which explores various couples at Briar University. In the books, Allie and Dean’s story is part of ‘The Score’, but the show is moving it into season two instead of keeping it later in the timeline.
Levy explained that this adjustment was necessary due to the series’ structure for television. She assured fans that the main romantic elements they expect will still be integral to the storyline.
She mentioned, “Some things had to work a little differently because of the timing and the way we platform them, but I promise all the fan-favorite things are still intended and planned. There’s still a lot of road with those two.”
Season two will also introduce additional tension in Allie and Dean’s relationship, with a new character, Hunter Davenport, played by Charlie Evans, creating conflict between them. Hunter comes from Dean’s social circle, making his presence both natural and disruptive.
Levy noted that Hunter was introduced to complicate the dynamics between the leads and prolong their slow-burning romance. His arrival is intended to challenge their already complicated friends-with-benefits arrangement.
She explained, “We needed to throw a wrench into Dean and Allie’s arrangement to elongate their story, and pulling from that universe felt right.”
Production for season two is already underway. Levy confirmed that all eight scripts have been completed, and the creative direction for the season is set, although full details remain under wraps.
She added, “I don’t want to say anything yet—but I think book fans will be very excited.”
Author Elle Kennedy also provided updates on another storyline for the upcoming season, discussing the romance between John Logan, played by Antonio Cipriano, and Grace Ivers, portrayed by India Fowler.
Kennedy expressed her enthusiasm for the casting chemistry and is eager to see that relationship unfold on screen. She described Grace as a unique and awkward character who often fumbles her words when nervous.
She remarked, “She rambles when she’s nervous and she’s just so random.” Kennedy added, “I’m really excited to see Grace onscreen. I think people will really resonate with her because she is just awkward.”

With new couples, fresh conflicts, and alterations to the original book order, season two of ‘Off Campus’ is poised to explore a different emotional trajectory while remaining within the same university setting.
