One Main Star Leaves ‘Emily in Paris’ As Season 5 Starts Filming in Rome and Paris

Emily in Paris is officially coming back for Season 5, but one familiar face won’t be returning.
Netflix has announced that production on the new season will begin in May 2025, starting in Rome and later moving back to Paris. Most of the main cast will return, including Lily Collins as Emily, Ashley Park as Mindy, and Lucas Bravo as Gabriel. That’s right — even after months of rumors, Gabriel is coming back!
Also returning are Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine), and Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, Emily’s ex-boyfriend. Eugenio Franceschini, who played Marcello in Season 4 and had a romance with Emily, will also be back.
While Netflix hasn’t said if he’s now a series regular, it looks like he’ll have a bigger role.
But missing from the list? Camille Razat, who played Camille for four seasons. Camille was Emily’s friend-turned-rival and had a dramatic storyline with Gabriel. In Season 4, she left town after pretending to be pregnant to get back with him — a move that didn’t go over well.
Her exit seemed final, though the show’s creator Darren Star hinted last year that characters could return in the future. “People come and go… but it doesn’t mean they’re off the table,” he said.
There were also questions about Lucas Bravo’s return. Last year, he said he wasn’t sure if he wanted to keep playing Gabriel, calling it “not fun anymore.” But in the end, Bravo agreed to return for Season 5. Since French actors aren’t usually under long-term contracts like U.S. stars, Netflix had to work out a new deal with him.
Season 5 will begin in Rome, following the end of Season 4 when Emily was offered a new work opportunity there. But the show is not leaving Paris behind. “She didn’t change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome,” joked creator Darren Star. “It’s not a permanent move. We’re not leaving Paris.”
Emily in Paris Season 5 is set to premiere in 2025. Fans can expect more drama, love triangles, and stylish adventures across two of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
