When Amazon aired Red, White & Royal Blue, it wasn’t a film that people expected would become a major hit. Sure, no one expected a disaster, but the film truly became a proper sensation and achieved a lot of success.

This LGBTQ+ rom-com showed us a different, more intimate side of international politics, and with a great screenplay, as well as charismatic performances, the movie became a proper hit.

Back in 2024, a sequel was announced to the delight of many, but with no official news since then and the shifts that happened in America, many fans have become fearful about the movie’s future. A new rumor provides more information.

The source of the rumor is Daniel Richtman, a popular scooper who has a solid track record. DanielRPK, as he is popularly known, shared this via his Patreon account and we are sharing the information with you now.

Namely, Richtman has some reassuring infor for all those who are fearful that the Red, White & Royal Blue sequel has been scrapped – it hasn’t; it is still very much in the works.

The first draft of the script has been submitted, but it is currently being worked on, so the script is not finished yet. We already know that the main cast of the first movie is coming back, so tehnically – we’re waiting for a scrpit.

Richtman confirms that filming will start once the schedules of the cast members are aligned and a script is done, which is logical, but the first part implies that it might take some time before the movie is made, so don’t expect anything before 2026, potentially even 2027!
