Sam Levinson has indicated that Euphoria Season 3 might serve as the natural conclusion for the HBO drama, depending on the series’ future. In a recent interview, Levinson shared that he has always approached each season with the mindset that it could be the last.

He elaborated that this perspective influenced his writing from the very beginning. He stated, “For the first season, it was a tough shoot. As I was writing it, I thought, ‘If they never let me come back, will I be happy?’ That’s how I approached Season 1, and then they let me come back for Season 2.”

Levinson reiterated that he maintains this approach with every return to the series. He added, “I’ve always done every season like it could be the last season and if the story ended here, would I feel proud? Is it saying what I want it to say?” He expressed satisfaction with how the upcoming season wraps up, describing it as something he is proud of and calling the ending “beautiful.”

He also made it clear that he would be content if the show concludes there, stating, “If they never let me come back, I’m happy with this.” His remarks imply that Season 3 may be crafted with closure in mind rather than setting up for further continuation.

There are increasing concerns about whether Euphoria will proceed beyond Season 3. The lengthy production delays between seasons and shifting priorities at HBO have cast uncertainty on the show’s future.

Additionally, the cast has evolved significantly since the series began. Stars like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi have all risen to prominence in Hollywood since Season 1, taking on blockbuster films and leading roles that complicate scheduling for another season.

The show has also faced challenges regarding momentum, as gaps between seasons can impact audience engagement and consistency. Consequently, some industry experts believe Season 3 could serve as a natural endpoint, even if HBO does not officially label it as the final chapter.

For now, Levinson’s comments indicate that he is prepared for either scenario. Whether Euphoria continues or concludes with Season 3, he is focused on ensuring that the story feels complete on its own terms.
