You’ll probably have heard of the Swedish band Ghost, but did you know that there is a whole fictional universe related to the band and the on-stage characters that the band members are “playing”?

Frontman Tobias Forge, who goes by the name Papa Emeritus while on stage, is also a comic book artist and he is exploring the “world of Ghost” in an ongoing series published by Dark Horse Comics.

The series we are talking about is Sister Imperator, whose second issue is scheduled to come out on April 16, 2025. In this report, we are going to bring you a preview of the upcoming issue.

Tobias Forge of Ghost is the artist on this issue, which is written by Corinna Bechko, and the story takes us to a circus in Eastern Europe:

A young Sister Imperator’s journey takes her to a traveling circus in eastern Europe, where she meets a wide variety of unusual people — some of whom will go on to change her life forever. As she becomes the resident human cannonball, it seems the Sister may have found her place after all… until tragedy strikes the circus. Could her stepfather’s horrible reach truly extend across the Atlantic? And if not, who else could be after her?
