Sakura Haruno is a beloved character in the Naruto series, considered one of the most popular in the show. But although the Naruto series has long ended, the beginning of Boruto sparked interest amongst old fans, seeing their beloved characters married and with families has many arguing over old ships and unexpected ones. We all know that all three members of Team 7, led by Kakashi Hatake, are now married. Naruto has achieved his dream of becoming Hokage and married Hinata, but who does Sakura end up sharing her life with?

In the Boruto series, it’s shown that Sakura Haruno is married to her long-time crush Sasuke Uchiha of the Uchiha clan, and together have a daughter called Sarada.

Sakura is one of the most iconic characters in the Naruto series, so the ending she gets is important to many fans. Although her ending doesn’t define her entire journey, it’s still an important part of her character. Read on to learn more about Sakura, the relationships in her life, and who she ultimately ends up marrying.

Sakura’s personality and childhood.

Sakura Haruno is known for her fiery personality and sometimes comedically aggressive gestures, especially towards Naruto and her long-time rival Ino. When she was a child and first entered Konoha academy, the other girls would pick on her because of her large forehead, causing Sakura to be insecure and hide it with thick bangs.

However, when she was once sitting alone and crying after being bullied, she encounters a girl named Ino, who comes up to her and encourages her to get rid of her bangs by saying that with them, she looks like a sheepdog.

This is when Sakura changes her hair into the signature leaf ninja band on the top of her head and starts a short friendship with Ino, only to turn bitter after learning they both had a crush on the same boy, Sasuke Uchiha.

But the reason behind Sakura and Ino’s rivalry is not only because they liked the same person but built up with time. Sakura began resenting her friend Ino because she felt outshined by Ino. She felt she was indebted to her because Ino’s friendship guided her to confidence, and she wanted to be her equal.

After entering Konoha academy, she develops a crush on her future teammate Sasuke. She confesses this crush to her fellow female classmates, who let her know that many girls like him, including Ino.

Sometime later, Sakura confronts Ino and tells her she has feelings for Sasuke, and Ino admits that she does too. After this, Sakura offers to break the friendship to compete for his love, turning their friendship into a bitter rivalry that begins with the series and lasts a long time.

Throughout the series, Sakura learns to stand up for herself and become a stronger shinobi, a big contrast to her as a timid child. Still, she is faced with the struggles of being incompetent in certain fields as a learning ninja.

One particular weakness of hers was her long hair. When she was younger, she heard rumors that Sasuke liked girls with long hair. Thus she decided to grow her hair out. However, this was proven to be a weak point that many enemies could exploit in battle, resulting in her having to forcefully cut her hair with a kunai after an enemy grabbed her by the hair to keep her in place.

Becoming self-aware of her weaknesses and seeing her fellow teammates excel in physical combat and jutsu techniques, she becomes determined to become physically stronger when facing opponents. Sakura doesn’t stay weak forever, despite what some might think. She trains hard and eventually becomes a strong Ninja on her own.

Sakura and Sasuke’s history and relationship.

Sakura has had a crush on Sasuke since they were children. This is something that the series has highlighted from the beginning of the show. She continuously tries to impress him, either that’s with her looks or skills, and isn’t discouraged by his reactions or neglect of her company.

Sometimes, she is shipped with Naruto. They have some bonding moments, but ultimately, Sakura would always choose Sasuke over Naruto. It’s also not fair to Naruto if he ends up with someone who doesn’t appreciate or thinks of him as second to Sasuke.

However, a rejection that deeply upset her was after she confessed to Sasuke when he wanted to leave Konoha. He thanked her but denied her feelings which deeply moved her. Sakura struggled with her feelings for Sasuke even years after he left.

She has tried to end these feelings but to no avail, even after she tried to kill him to prevent war. Sakura was shocked by his return to the 4th Shinobi world war but still upset and doubtful that he would treat her well after years apart.

However, he acknowledged his poor behavior towards her and apologized for all the pain and neglect he caused her. Sakura decides to forgive Sasuke and his crimes against Konoha, and his old childhood shinobi friends welcome him back over time.

Sakura in her married life.

Sakura later ends up marrying Sasuke, and her love for him from childhood is still present and strong. She and Sasuke had a daughter named Sarada, and Sakura had to play a major role in raising her as Sasuke had to be away on several missions.

Sarada sees her mother’s love for her father and how happy she becomes when he’s coming back to his family and teases her for it even though Sarada herself is excited to see her father.

Sakura is protective of her family, patient, and supportive of her daughter as she goes through her journey as a ninja. After everything she went through, it’s good to see that she got to marry her crush and have a family with him.
