‘The Pitt’ Season 3 Welcomes Six New Cast Members as HBO Max Drama Grows
‘The Pitt’ Season 3 is expanding its cast as HBO Max’s acclaimed medical drama introduces six new actors ahead of its return. According to Deadline, the upcoming season will feature a diverse group of new student doctors, patients, and medical staff members who will enrich the emergency department storyline.
Among the new faces is Pruitt Taylor Vince, recognized for his role in Superman, who will portray emergency department patient Lance Candella. Malachi Beasley, known from A House of Dynamite, joins as Student Doctor Taj Osei, while Cheyenne Perez, a star from The Sex Lives of College Girls, will appear as Student Doctor Marisol Elena Sambrano Monterossa.
Additionally, the season will showcase Jeremy Radin as ED patient Grant Emerson, Charlz Williams from SEAL Team as ED patient Anguss Gunn, and Rosanny Zayas from The L Word: Generation Q as Physician Assistant Vera Delgado, as reported by Deadline.
This casting news comes as production on ‘The Pitt’ Season 3 is officially underway. Filming commenced on June 16, with the cast sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the production’s start. The new season was confirmed ahead of the show’s 2026 return, and both star and executive producer Noah Wyle and creator R. Scott Gemmill have indicated that the narrative will pick up four months after the events of Season 2.
The next chapter will unfold during a colder season, presenting new challenges and winter-related medical cases for the hospital. While specific story details remain under wraps, the latest casting updates suggest that the emergency department will see several new faces.

These new additions follow significant cast changes in recent months. Season 2 saw several characters depart or take a step back from the series. Supriya Ganesh’s Dr. Samira Mohan was confirmed to be leaving before the Season 2 finale, while Shabana Azeez announced that Victoria Javadi would not return to the ED. Sepideh Moafi also indicated that Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi would not be returning immediately.
However, the show is also enhancing the roles of some existing characters. HBO Max confirmed that Ayesha Harris’ Dr. Parker Ellis will become a series regular in Season 3 after appearing in a recurring role during Season 2.
This promotion is fitting, as Dr. Ellis remains tied to one of the most significant storylines from the previous season. Her character, alongside Taylor Dearden’s Dr. Mel King, is still navigating the aftermath of an unresolved malpractice lawsuit.
Interestingly, many of the new additions for Season 3 are younger medical professionals. The show introduced several student doctors and nurses during Season 2, including characters played by Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, and Lucas Iverson.
With new student doctors Taj Osei and Marisol Elena Sambrano Monterossa joining the hospital, fans are eager to see how the series will integrate these characters into the existing team. Since Season 3 continues within the same medical year as Season 2, the show may need to clarify why these new characters were not previously introduced.
Production is still in its early stages, suggesting that more casting announcements could be on the horizon. Deadline reports that additional student doctors and returning characters may be revealed as filming progresses.
With its expanding cast and new medical challenges ahead, ‘The Pitt’ Season 3 seems poised to continue delivering the intense hospital drama that has made it one of HBO Max’s most significant recent successes.
