‘Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon’ Reveals English Dub Trailer Ahead of Western Premiere

The Kaiju No. 8 manga began serialization in 2020 and it has seen a significant increase in popularity in recent years, especially after the globally-loved anime series premiered last year.
A second season of the anime has been announced to begin later this year, and while we’re waiting, the producers have decided to provide us with a recap movie that has something extra.
Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon premiered in Japan on March 28, 2025 and will hit Western cinemas soon. In light of that fact, Crunchyroll has just released the dubbed version of the trailer for the movie.
Before we start, here is the trailer:
The movie will premiere on April 13 in the West and will have a limited three-day release in select cinemas, although we’re still getting details about the projections of the movie.
We know that the movie will be released both in subbed and dubbed format, so fans will be able to choose which version of the movie they want to see. Crunchyroll is distributing the movie.
As for the content, the movie will, for the most part, be a recap of the first season that will provide us with all the most important details from the first episodes of the anime, but there is something else.
Namely, a special short episode, “Hoshina’s Day Off”, will also be incorporated into the movie, and we have to stress that it is a completely original story that has not appeared in either the anime or the manga before.
As said, the movie premieres in April, while the second season will debut in July 2025.
