We have already written about the anime movie based on Shuhei Miyazaki’s Me & Roboco manga that is coming out later this year. This interesting combination of science-fiction and comedy has the potential to become a hilarious hit this year.
Debuting in 2020, the original manga is still ongoing. The story, which focuses on the silly adventures of high schooler Bondo Taira and his OrderMaid Roboco, has been collected in 21 volumes as of the time of writing.
A28-episode anime series aired from 2022 to 2023 and we know that the upcoming movie is going to premiere on April 18, 2025 in Japan. Now, a new trailer for the movie has been released.
Before we continue, here is the trailer in question:
With the movie coming out soon, we already know most of the details, so the biggest gains of this trailer are several new scenes, along with a preview of ano’s theme song “Lolilokkyun Robo❤.”
Alongside that, the producers have released a social media post:
In case you don’t know Japanese, this post confirms that moviegoers will get a special “volume 0” of the manga as their first gift. More details will be revealed later.
The movie will feature the voice talents of Mayumi Tanaka (voice of Luffy in One Piece) as Roboco from a “straightforward battle world line,” Masako Nozawa as Roboco “from a Showa-era gag manga worldline,” Sumire Uesaka as Roboco “from a romantic comedy worldline,” Shigeru Chiba (Fist of the North Star‘s narrator) as Roboco “from a classic sci-fi action worldline,” and Shun Matsuo as the “normal” Roboco.
As you know, the movie was initially supposed to come out last year but was pushed back to April 18 to improve the overall quality of the project. We’re looking forward to the first reactions!
